For over 20 yrs now Dr. Amy Manchanda has been a practicing optometrist and, in 1995, purchased Cole Harbour Optometry.
Dr. Manchanda graduated from McGill University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then attended the University of Waterloo where, after 4 years of study, she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree.
With special interest in eye health and how it is affected by nutrition, Dr. Manchanda offers counselling for holistic treatment of a number of common eye conditions—such as dry eyes and macular degeneration. She also offers naturopathic advice for many systemic conditions.
Dr. Manchanda enjoys attending continuing education courses, consistently updating her education to stay current with the ever changing field of optometry. She attends many of these courses in the United States where state of the art education - regarding new equipment and information on eye disease detection and treatment - is offered. In her spare time, Dr. Manchanda enjoys yoga, hiking, travelling, and reading health journals to improve her knowledge about naturopathic medicine.
Celina Caprini is originally from Etobicoke, Ontario. She studied at the University of Western Ontario graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Medical Sciences. During her undergraduate degree she had the opportunity to work abroad in Germany where she completed a research project in microbiology.
She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2017 on the Dean's Honour List. As part of her training, Dr. Caprini completed externships at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas and at clinics in Fort Frances, Ontario and Whistler, British Columbia, gaining experience in ocular disease management and primary eye care.
Dr. Caprini enjoys working with patients of all ages to provide high quality comprehensive eye care. Outside of the office, her hobbies include reading, drawing, kayaking, and skiing.
Dr Sylvie Julien is originally from Herring Cove, Nova Scotia.
She completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology at Dalhousie University. She then completed a Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, as a member of the BSK International Optometric Honour Society, and the Pediatric Concentration Program.
Dr Sylvie Julien had the privilege to complete extensive clinical rotations at Mercy Children’s Hospital in Missouri, Charles River Community Health Center in Massachusetts, Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New York, and Capital Eye Consultants in Virginia. This provided her increased exposure to diverse patient populations presenting with various ocular conditions and diseases.
Dr Sylvie Julien is very happy to now be providing eye care in her hometown province and she looks forward to taking you on as new patients!
Outside of the clinic, she can be found surfing, exploring the outdoors, cooking, as well as spending time with family and friends.
